Difference Between Impact and Non-Impact Printers (4 marks)

Impact Printers Non-Impact Printers
Use physical contact between print head and paper. Do not make physical contact with paper; print using ink/laser.
Produce more noise while printing. Operate quietly.
Slower speed and lower print quality. Faster and high-quality printing.
Can print multi-part forms (carbon copies). Cannot print carbon copies.
Examples: Dot matrix, daisy wheel. Examples: Inkjet, laser printers.
